Located at 5407 Main Street in the plaza across the Greater Chamber of Commerce building on the corner of River Road and Main.

Birthday Event This Sunday, Feb 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Downtown Nutrition is celebrating their first year in operation which most businesses and services know pretty well, was the start of the COVID and when things were shutting down. So it is a testament to any and all small, local businesses that were able to hang on during such a time, never mind trying to start one up during the coronavirus pandemic.
Everyone is invited to come to one of their favorite establishment and celebrate (and for those who haven’t been there yet (and why not? LOL), this would be a perfect time to come to Downtown Nutrition and see what the all the buzz is about. Owner and operator Jessica Long wanted to recognize the community at this event. “Without the support of this amazing community none of this would be possible so we inviting everyone to come celebrate with us. We hope see you then!” Long said with a smile.
There will raffles during day so you won’t want to miss hanging out and meeting your local, independent shop owners, in addition to trying out some of the drinks and snacks at Downtown Nutrition.
In the Beginning…
After settling in New Port Richey 6 years ago, Jess started Herbalife 6 years ago and but when she had the desire to open a storefront, she felt no city really fit. She had a vision to create a loving community in a city that felt like home with Herbalife (system and products that achieve balanced nutrition with the help of protein shakes, weight-management programs, nutritional supplements, sports nutrition solutions and personal care products). That’s when it hit her as she started going to the parks, playgrounds, and trails with her three active boys in New Port Richey: Downtown Nutrition was born.
“The history here is amazing and the growth downtown has been the biggest influence. We love that we are a tiny river city with so much beauty. I fell in love with this New Port Richey years ago, my kids go to school here and we love the vibe downtown, and we have established roots here” Jessica remarked. The Downtown Nutrition menu has many healthier tea & coffee drinks (hot and cold), shakes, plus donuts and waffles but all are still very tasty. See below for menu.
“We saw New Port Richey was growing and more people were active downtown so we knew this was a perfect fit for us to bring amazing Nutrition to our community. We created menu items to reflect some of the rich New Port Richey history like Our Main Squeeze, The Hacienda, Sunset on Sims, plus many more.” We also wanted to make sure we gave back to our community every day by making someone’s day the best ever.
US Veterans Suicide Awareness Walk, May 22
Speaking of giving back, Jessica’s Downtown Nutrition annually holds their National Veterans Suicide Awareness Walk Held in Sims Park on May 22 with the purpose of bringing awareness for our veterans Downtown and show them they have community support here since suicide among veterans is a growing problem in the country unfortunately. “Last year we were able to raise over $5,000 for Mission 22 which is a local organization that helps veterans with therapy, housing, service animals and much more. This year we will be raising money for VetCatch, a local charity on Main Street that takes Veterans on inshore fishing trips and connects them with other local veterans creating a better community for them.” Coincidentally, the president/founder of VetCatch, Bill “Rusty” Rutherford, is actually the owner/operator of the popular downtown bait and tackle shop, the Rusty Bucket Baithouse, across Main Street from Jessi’s business so the synergy seemed natural.

Jessica loves NPR and wants to be here for a long time. “We can’t believe we are celebrating a year on Sunday. We love the community so much and can’t wait to celebrate another year. Our goal before walking out the door is to make you smile! And I repeat we thank everyone for their support. It’s because of them, we are still able to be here and continue to be small business here, supply a nutritional menu of drinks and snacks and at the same time give back, do what we can for the community.”
Downtown Nutrition was happy to join other businesses that were part of the nutritious and wellness business in Downtown New Port Richey, like Wright’s Natural Market, Adapt Freshness, Maharajh Acupuncture and Herb Shoppe, United Hands Wellness Center, Vibrational Sound & Wellness, plus newcomers Koh Muay Thai Gym and Astro Cycles–just to name a few.
If you are a Downtown New Port Richey celebrating a milestone, let us know so we can feature you. Can be any anniversary or birthday of your business.
