Wright’s Natural Market is committed to making fresh, healthy, locally-grown produce accessible. This month, they joined Feeding Florida’s Fresh Access Bucks program as one of the first brick-and-mortar retailers!
The Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) program makes healthy food available to SNAP shoppers. Primarily, the program has been adopted by farmers markets, farm stands, and mobile markets. With their participation, Wright’s is paving the way for grocers across the state to jump in.
Here’s how it works at Wright’s Natural Market: FAB will match every dollar spent on the SNAP benefits card, up to $10. For example, $10 spent on fresh produce at Wright’s earns SNAP shoppers an additional $10 in Fresh Access Bucks. Shoppers have the choice to save their FAB, or use them in the same trip. So, not only is this program bringing healthy food to lower-income families, but it also supports the work of our local farmers.
Located at 5800 Main Street, Wright’s is a cornerstone of downtown New Port Richey. Today, they provide farm-fresh produce and nutritional education at an affordable price. “Offering Fresh Access Bucks is another way to further our commitment to bringing healthy and affordable food to the community,” says co-owner Jeff Wright.
