Astro Cycles is a full-service bicycle shop that has been instrumental in building New Port Richey’s bicycle scene. Formerly known as Dan’s Bicycles, Astro Cycles was a dream that started with owner, Brad Jurgens, and a $4,000 loan. When they opened, Astro Cycles had very little inventory. Today, Astro Cycles sells new and used bikes, offers repairs, and provides rentals.
Over time, Brad was able to expand the bicycle community until it reached a tipping point, becoming the unstoppable bicycle train we see today. Their goal is to get everyone on a bike and to keep older bikes in tip-top shape. They’ve got their work cut out for them! Astro Cycles is an incredibly popular bicycle shop that now employs 2 full-time and 2 part-time employees.
Astro Cycles has come a long way since it opened its doors, but they haven’t hit the brakes quite yet. They’re still growing and recently announced that their shop would be moving to downtown New Port Richey’s Main Street. Over the next year, they will be renovating their new storefront at 5424 Main Street in River Road Plaza. If all goes well, we should see them downtown in less than a year. “The shop is thrilled,” says Brad, “we look forward to many more years of excellent customer service when it comes to bicycles.
