Last month, the Cotee River Kayakers Club set out on our first group paddle. We took a three-hour trip from Sims Park to Frances Avenue Park and back, and had tons of fun meeting new friends. However, something we heard was that Sunday mornings are not accessible for everybody, due to family and religious commitments.
One of the pillars of the Cotee River Kayakers Club is inclusivity. We strive to make the club open and available to our members, and anyone who enjoys kayaking. In this spirit, we decided to do back-to-back paddles on the evening of Saturday, October 17 & the morning of Sunday, October 18.
After each trip, we will be meeting at a local restaurant to enjoy the food and each others’ company. On Saturday evening, we will come together on top of the Social NPR rooftop for drinks. On Sunday morning, we will refuel at ADAPT Freshness, the new smoothie and açaí bowl spot on Main Street. No pressure, but we would love to see everybody afterward!
