Kayaking the ‘Cotee River

On Sunday, September 20th, the Cotee River Kayakers Club enjoyed their initial group paddle from Sims Park in #downtownNPR, to Frances Avenue Park, back down to Sims Park.

The group, composed of 20 kayakers ranging from novice to experienced paddlers, had a great time paddling the five-kilometer stretch.

The ‘Cotee River winds 23-miles from James E. Grey Preserve in New Port Richey to the Gulf of Mexico, but the group is committed to doing a stretch at a time. They anticipate their next group paddle to launch in mid-October.

The ‘Cotee River Kayakers Club is the latest group out of New Port Richey to be trending on Facebook. Since their first group paddle, they’ve more than doubled their membership.
